Overview

iTop VPN is a network client that connects a computer or phone to an iTop server through an encrypted tunnel. Once connected, Internet destinations see the server’s public address rather than the connection’s usual address. iTop VPN changes the route used by network traffic. It does not remove account logins, browser cookies, or personal details entered into a site.

Pick a server

The main connection can use a recommended location, while the server list allows a deliberate choice. Locations can be searched, sorted by distance or latency, and saved as favorites. A nearby server is a reasonable first test because distance affects response time, but a service may treat different server addresses differently.

Dedicated groups target downloading, streaming, social access, or gaming. These labels describe intended routing rather than a guarantee that a third-party service will accept the address. If a site rejects one server, switch locations and retest instead of assuming the entire Internet connection has failed.

Read the account limits

The free account carries a daily data allowance and reaches only part of the server list. Items marked VIP need a paid account. A task that works during a short test can stop later when the daily allowance runs out, so check the remaining data before starting a large transfer or a long video session.

A VIP account opens the marked controls and locations during its subscription period. Dedicated IP remains a separate purchase even for a VIP user. That distinction matters when a fixed address is required for an allowlist: paying for the general subscription does not automatically assign one permanent address.

Choose a protocol

Protocol selection changes how iTop VPN carries the tunnel. The Android app includes Auto, TCP, and UDP modes. Auto avoids an early technical decision. UDP can suit traffic that values low delay, while TCP may pass through a network that handles UDP poorly. The best result depends on the local connection rather than one universal setting.

Changing protocol breaks and rebuilds the tunnel. Pause sensitive work before making the change, then check the displayed VPN address after reconnection. Traffic sent during a gap should not be assumed to have used the protected route.

Separate selected apps

Split tunneling divides traffic by app. Selected apps use iTop VPN while the rest continue through the ordinary Internet connection. This can preserve access to a local service or prevent an incompatible app from using the VPN address. It also means that two apps on the same phone can show different public addresses.

Review the split list when an app changes purpose. A browser excluded for local access may later carry an account login or a file upload outside the tunnel. The bypass remains until the user changes it; connecting iTop VPN does not override that exception.

Protect a disconnect

The Windows privacy controls include a kill switch. It blocks ordinary Internet access when the VPN connection drops, which avoids an automatic return to the normal public address. The same behavior can look like a broken network. If pages stop loading after a tunnel failure, check the VPN state and kill switch before resetting the router.

Auto-connect can start the tunnel under selected conditions. Test it on the networks that matter, especially public Wi-Fi with a captive sign-in page. The portal may need a direct connection first, followed by the VPN after access is granted.

Proxy another device

The Proxy Service displays an address and port for manual entry on another device. That device needs its proxy fields changed, and only traffic that honors those fields follows the proxy. This is not the same as installing iTop VPN and routing the whole device through a VPN tunnel.

A proxy can help with a device that has no matching client, but every application must be tested. Software that ignores the system proxy continues to connect directly. Treat the proxy address as a separate route with a narrower boundary, not as proof that all traffic is encrypted.
