Aiseesoft iPhone Unlocker is a Windows and Mac utility for removing several kinds of locks and restrictions from connected Apple mobile devices. Also sold as iKnockin, it provides separate tools for screen passcodes, Apple ID accounts, Screen Time, device management, backup encryption settings and iPhone carrier locks. These tools change different parts of the device, and their effects on stored data differ.
Removing a forgotten screen passcode
The screen-unlocking mode handles forgotten numerical passcodes and locks involving Touch ID or Face ID on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. It works through a USB connection to the computer. Aiseesoft iPhone Unlocker downloads a firmware package, verifies it and then removes the screen passcode.
This operation erases the device’s data and updates its iOS software. It restores access by clearing the lock; it does not reveal the forgotten code or preserve the files behind it.
Apple ID
Account removal targets the Apple ID and iCloud account associated with an activated device. After removing that association, the device can be connected to a different Apple ID for Apple services. The operation erases the device’s data, and the connection requires the device to trust the computer.
Availability depends on the device’s software and Find My status. With Find My enabled, newer supported systems require two-factor authentication. Aiseesoft iPhone Unlocker does not support this account-removal route on an unactivated device. Erasing all content and settings later, or restoring through iTunes, can reconnect it to the original account and leave it at the activation screen.
Screen time
Aiseesoft iPhone Unlocker treats a Screen Time passcode set directly on the device differently from one imposed remotely through Family settings. The first route removes the passcode while retaining other device data; the Family route also erases the data.
The tool also includes recovery of older Restrictions passcodes. Screen Time removal requires Find My to be disabled, and its guided process calls for two-factor authentication to be enabled. Once the restriction is cleared, Screen Time settings can be configured again.
MDM restrictions
The Bypass MDM mode addresses restrictions applied through Mobile Device Management on an iPhone or iPad. Instead of wiping the screen passcode, it processes the connected device’s management restriction so that the user can access functions limited by that management. This mode retains device data during the bypass.
Backup encryption
The backup tool resets the encryption settings used for iTunes backups. It needs an unlocked device that trusts the connected computer, with Find My switched off. Removing the setting allows new backups to be created without the forgotten encryption setting blocking that process.
Existing encrypted backups remain unchanged. Aiseesoft iPhone Unlocker removes the device’s backup-encryption setting rather than recovering the old password or converting previously encrypted backup files into readable copies.
SIM locks
Carrier unlocking has a separate device check. The SIM tool identifies information including the iPhone model, IMEI and jailbreak status before continuing with the carrier-lock operation. If the device is not jailbroken, this mode requires that to be done first.
Its guided process also includes changes on the iPhone that make it forget the current internet connection. The intended result is removal of the carrier restriction associated with an unsupported SIM.
