Overview

Cốc Cốc is a free web browser from Coc Coc Company Limited for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS. It combines web browsing with Vietnamese language tools, media controls and account synchronization. The Linux distribution remains experimental.

New tabs and searches

Cốc Cốc opens a start page with news, website shortcuts and search tools. Users choose news topics and sources to customize the feed. The microphone control turns a spoken query into a search. On mobile, the QR scanner opens website addresses from the camera or a saved photo.

AI Search summarizes information from multiple sources at the top of search results. The mobile apps expose this alongside ordinary searches and subject-specific search categories.

Keeping pages in view

The desktop Sidebar opens a website beside the current tab. Users add a shortcut by entering its address, then choose a side window or a new tab. Pinning the side window divides the browsing screen. Messenger, Telegram and Zalo also open from the Sidebar.

Cốc Cốc groups tabs under a color and emoji, while tab search finds an open page by name. Split View places two tabs side by side. Memory Saver temporarily freezes inactive tabs; returning to a tab makes it active again.

Words in context

Cốc Cốc translates selected words, sentences or paragraphs without replacing the page. Users select text and choose Translate to see the result in a dialog or window. Dictionary lookup supplies word meanings and pronunciation, with further definitions and examples through Oxford and Cambridge references.

The language tools also work with text in PDF documents. Selecting a number and its unit opens a conversion for currencies or measurements.

Media controls

Cốc Cốc detects downloadable media on a webpage. The Download control on the address bar or media panel lets users choose a format and quality. The Downloads page then finds, opens or deletes the local file.

Pin video moves playback into a floating window. Users drag it to another position or resize it, then pause playback or seek within the video. The window keeps the video visible while they use another tab or application.

Torrent transfers

On Windows and macOS, Cốc Cốc also handles torrents. Users enable the torrent client, then add a link or a .torrent file through Downloads. That page shows transfer progress and provides pause and resume controls. Settings cover upload and download speeds, the sharing ratio and the listening port.

Filtering page content

Cốc Cốc enables its ad blocker by default. It filters banners, pop-ups, redirect advertisements and video advertisements, along with advertising trackers. The shield control switches blocking on or off for an individual website. Blocking settings also provide acceptable-ad choices and website exceptions.

Private sessions

Cốc Cốc offers Incognito sessions that omit browsing history, cookies, website data and form entries from the saved browsing record. On mobile, users can lock Incognito tabs and require a PIN or biometric authentication to open the browser.

The desktop browser also offers a separate Incognito window with Tor. Opening it starts a connection through the Tor network before users enter website addresses.

Profiles and synchronized data

Cốc Cốc separates settings, bookmarks and history between desktop browser profiles. Signing into a Cốc Cốc Account and enabling Sync shares bookmarks, history, open tabs and passwords across devices. Users can customize which data participates in synchronization.

Turning Sync off stops further updates to the account, while earlier synchronized data remains in the browser. Clearing data while Sync remains active can also clear that information from the account. Desktop extensions from the Chrome Web Store add further browser functions.

Playback on a phone

Mobile Cốc Cốc continues audio when another app takes focus or the screen turns off. Cinema mode presents full-screen video with gestures for volume, brightness and seeking. Playback controls also include speed, subtitles and a sleep timer.

The iOS Listening List collects songs, videos, podcasts and playlists for playback in one place. A separate reading list saves webpages for later or offline reading.
