PDF Eraser Pro is a Windows PDF editor for removing text, pictures and other unwanted content from existing documents. It combines area-based deletion and an adjustable eraser with tools for adding replacement text or images, removing complete pages and correcting page orientation.
Text removal
PDF Eraser Pro treats selectable text differently from words embedded in a scanned image. In a text-based PDF, the Delete Area tool lets you draw a region around the content to remove. Saving the PDF applies the deletion to text within that region, so the selection determines which part of the page is changed.
Replacing wording involves deleting the old text and adding a new text area. The deletion must be saved before the replacement is inserted; otherwise, the deletion region can also remove newly added text.
Image erasing
For a scan in which words are part of the page image, the eraser works on the image area containing them. The same approach removes portions of pictures, logos and graphics. You move the eraser across the unwanted content rather than selecting a word as text.
Three preset eraser sizes cover different areas, and a custom width control allows finer adjustments down to a single pixel. Erasing leaves blank space where the content was. For pages with a colored background, the Color Picker samples the background so that the cleared area can use a matching color.
The viewing scale is chosen before opening a document. Changing that scale requires closing the PDF, setting the zoom ratio and reopening it.
Adding text and images
The Add Text tool creates a text area at a chosen position on the page. After entering the wording, you can change its font and color.
PDF Eraser Pro also inserts JPG, BMP, TIF, GIF and PNG images. An inserted image can be moved into position and resized by dragging its lower-right handle. A replacement logo, for example, can occupy the space left by a removed one. With transparent PNG or GIF images, the old image needs to be erased first, since transparent areas in the new picture do not conceal it.
Removing and rotating pages
The built-in Page Cutter removes whole pages rather than individual objects. It accepts a PDF through a file selection or drag and drop, then presents a page list from which you select the pages to delete. Multiple pages can be selected together before saving the shortened PDF.
Page rotation handles documents whose pages face the wrong direction. It changes their orientation within the PDF.
Pro license
The Pro license allows commercial use and saves PDFs without the watermark applied by the unregistered edition.
