Wavebox is a Chromium browser for Windows, macOS and Linux that organizes web apps and separate online accounts. It offers a free Basic plan, a Pro trial and paid Pro and Teams subscriptions.
Spaces separate account sessions
A Space keeps its own cookies, allowing several accounts from the same service to stay signed in simultaneously. Users switch Spaces within one browser while search, unread indicators and side-by-side views can span those accounts.
Profiles create a broader boundary. Each Profile has its own Spaces, settings, extensions, passwords and search. Switching Profiles opens a separate browser environment rather than another account container.
Groups hold persistent apps
Wavebox places groups in its webdock sidebar, with a separate tabstrip for each group. Users add directory apps or custom websites, then keep related browsing tabs beside them. Boosting a tab into an app adds persistent access, unread badges, notification controls and individual sleep settings.
Rules choose where links open
The Link Opening Engine combines a source, a URL match and an action. Sources can include an app, group, Space or an external application. Users match exact addresses, domains, prefixes or patterns, then direct links into particular apps, groups or windows.
An action can open another tab or replace the target app’s current page. Rules can also send links to another browser or desktop application.
Sleeping pages and incoming updates
Wavebox suspends inactive pages after a configurable timeout or under memory pressure. Users can sleep whole groups manually, exclude URLs or change individual app timers. Clicking a sleeping page wakes it again.
Integrated apps can continue receiving unread updates while asleep. Other apps require background auto-wake or an active page for fresh badges and notifications. Deep Sleep puts long-idle tabs into a further reduced activity state.
Wavebox Mini collects incoming updates into one list. Focus Mode temporarily suppresses desktop alerts, unread badges and audio according to the user’s choices. A Focus Zone targets selected groups, and a duration determines when normal alerts resume.
Split tabs or dock a reference
Split View pairs two tabs from the same group, horizontally or vertically, with a divider for adjusting their sizes. The tabs can use different Spaces. Dock instead keeps an app or tab visible while users switch other content.
A dock can belong to one group or remain visible across its entire window. Users can combine docking with Split View, and the browser remembers panel sizes. These viewing functions require Pro access.
Search browser items and accounts
Global Search finds apps, tabs, bookmarks, notes, widgets and dashboards through their titles, addresses and metadata. Selecting a result opens the relevant item. For content searches, separate Gmail and Drive actions run the query across connected accounts and open results in individual tabs.
Dashboard widgets and saved sessions
Dashboards combine sticky notes, tasks, RSS feeds, webviews and other widgets. Users can make a dashboard their new tab page or share one with their team. A Collection widget saves pages as a reusable tab session.
The My Wavebox widget reports app usage. Smart Notes also support checklists and preserve their checked state when users export them.
Brainbox works with page context
Brainbox accepts questions alongside tab content, clipboard text, screenshots and uploaded files. Tab mentions reference live content, while attachments preserve a snapshot. Chats can compare pages, summarize documents or draft replies across different Spaces.
Skills save reusable instructions with a name, prompt, content trigger and optional model choice. Users edit built-in Skills or create their own, then invoke them through chat or a page’s context menu. Brainbox supports included engines, personal provider keys and an on-device model.
A separate Chat with Settings can change the browser’s setup. It can adjust apps, colors and link rules, while ordinary page conversations handle content.
Password storage
The password manager saves credentials, fills sign-in forms and imports passwords from another browser or CSV. Its store remains separate from Chrome’s. Privacy Lock blocks browser access with a PIN, password or biometrics.
Chrome extension support
Users can add, pin, disable or remove Chrome Web Store extensions. Some Chrome-specific extensions cannot work in Wavebox.
Personal sync and managed teams
Snapshots automatically create encrypted recovery copies of a Profile. Profile Sync mirrors a setup between computers under the same subscription. Sharing a setup across different subscriptions instead uses a template or Wavebox Live.
Templates give teammates an editable starting configuration. With Live, administrators manage a shared Profile and publish changes remotely. Shared dashboards collect team resources, while Connect supplies messaging, file sharing, voice and video calls, and screensharing.
