Amazon App is Amazon’s shopping application for Android, iPhone and iPad, listed in mobile stores as Amazon Shopping. It lets shoppers browse departments, examine products, read customer reviews and place orders. The app also brings the shopping cart, account information and order details into the mobile interface.
Camera, barcode and voice search
Besides typed searches, Amazon App can identify an item through the camera. Tapping the scan icon in the search bar lets a shopper photograph a product or scan its barcode, then look for it in Amazon’s catalogue. This is useful when the item is visible but its name or brand is unknown.
The Android app also supports voice search through the microphone. Camera access enables visual searches and adding pictures to product reviews.
Product pages and in-room previews
Product pages combine item details with customer ratings and reviews, giving shoppers information to consider before adding a purchase to the cart. Where a listing provides a 360-degree view, the item can be examined from different angles rather than through a single photograph.
On supported listings, the iPhone and iPad app’s View in your room function uses the camera to show an item within the surrounding space.
Deal alerts
The heart icon saves a product to Your Lists. Amazon App can then alert the shopper when its price drops.
Upcoming deals have a separate notification control. Watch this deal marks a forthcoming offer and sends an alert when it starts.
Delivery tracking and live chat
After an order is placed, Amazon App provides tracking information and delivery notifications. These updates let the shopper follow a package and receive notice of its arrival without repeatedly opening the order page.
Live chat support is available around the clock. A chat started in the app remains open for 24 hours, allowing the conversation to continue later within that period instead of beginning a new support session each time.
Country stores
Amazon App supports International Shopping and lets users select a country storefront through its settings. The same app can be used for stores such as Amazon US, UK, Canada, Germany or Japan. Shopping language and payment-currency options also support international purchases.
Account access
On supported Apple devices, facial or fingerprint identification can be used to sign back in after signing out. Shoppers can also remain signed in to return to their account and shopping information.
