DivX Pro is a paid video playback and conversion suite for Windows and Mac. It combines DivX Player with DivX Converter, adding tools for preparing video files, processing extra disc-video formats and moving converted videos through cloud storage. The Pro license is purchased with a one-time payment.
Video conversion
DivX Converter turns imported videos into DivX, MKV and MP4 files, with HEVC conversion also available on Windows. You can drag files into the converter and choose a preset for a DivX Certified device or an MP4 output intended for devices such as an iPhone or iPad.
The converter also lets you set the bitrate, limit resolution and control the output file size. A custom preset saves your choices for later conversions, while multiple clips can be combined into a single output file.
DivX Pro opens further encoder controls, including B-Frame and Target Quantizer settings.
DivX Pro editing tools
Pro adds editing operations that run before conversion. Choosing a start and end point removes unwanted material from the beginning or end of a recording. Cropping changes the visible frame, with presets for proportions such as widescreen 16:9, portrait 9:16, square 1:1 and 4:3.
DivX Pro can also place a custom logo or watermark over the video and set a custom frame rate. Rotation is available in the converter as well.
Disc video
The included Video Pack expands the files DivX Converter can accept. It adds MPEG-2 inputs such as MPG, TS and VOB, together with VC-1 video in M2TS and TS files. These inputs can be converted into DivX, MKV or MP4 outputs.
This makes DivX Pro useful for turning unencrypted DVD and Blu-ray video files into digital copies for other players. Files protected by copyright encryption cannot be converted; the Video Pack does not remove that protection.
Audio and subtitle tracks
Conversion can preserve the original audio through passthrough or use a selected audio output format. You can add up to eight audio tracks and include subtitles in SRT, ASS or SSA format. Track ordering controls determine how the audio and subtitle choices are arranged in the resulting video.
Keeping several tracks in one file allows a video to retain language choices or commentary alongside its main soundtrack. DivX Player can switch between available audio tracks during playback.
Video playback
DivX Player opens formats including AVI, DIVX, MKV and MP4, supports video up to 4K and plays 360-degree video. Pro also enables HEVC 10-bit playback on Windows. Fast-forward, rewind and chapter points provide ways to move through a video without replaying it from the beginning.
Subtitle search accepts a movie or television title and lets you select a matching subtitle file. Font, color and size controls adjust how subtitles appear. The media library keeps videos together, while playlists can be created, played and looped; files from the DivX Movies folder can be added automatically.
Cloud storage
Cloud Connect links DivX Pro with Google Drive and Dropbox. Windows users can import cloud videos into the converter, then upload the converted results. On Mac, Cloud Connect supports uploading rather than importing videos. Multiple cloud accounts can be connected within the software.
The free edition offers time-limited trials of Cloud Connect and Video Pack; both are included in Pro. The paid upgrade also removes advertising and third-party offers from the suite.
