FlashScore App is the mobile version of Flashscore, a live scores and sports data service run by the Prague-based company Livesport. It follows results, statistics, standings and news from 38 sports, with football as the main focus alongside tennis, basketball, hockey, darts and many others. The app is free for Android and iOS and carries advertising; iPhone and iPad users can pay to remove banner ads.
Live results and standings
Scores and statistics in FlashScore App update in real time, and league tables move with them while games are in progress. Football data comes from Opta (Stats Perform). Users can switch the interface between more than 30 languages in the settings. The app loads content live, so users cannot read results and news offline.
Football match statistics
The app groups team statistics for a football match into TOP Stats, Shots, Attack, Passes, Defence and Goalkeeping. Beyond goals, corners and cards, the football coverage adds expected goals on target (xGOT), expected assists (xA), errors leading to a shot or goal, and goals prevented.
Live player ratings cover more than 120 competitions. Every player starts at 6 and can rise to 10. Goals, passes, won duels and defensive actions add points, while fouls, cards and lost duels remove them. The weighting depends on position. A player needs 10 minutes on the pitch to receive a rating. The team rating beside the lineup is the average of its players.
Match Momentum, under Statistics on the main match tab, draws one bar per minute for the side with the higher Momentum value. The app values every possession event by how it changes the chance of scoring. The chart therefore shows which team was on top even when there were no shots.
Following teams, matches and players
Tapping the star on a team page adds it to My Teams, and users can also star any single match. Users can add up to 100 footballers from their profile, a team’s Squad tab, search or a match lineup. These players appear on the Players tab of Favourites. Favourites sync across the user’s devices.
A favourite football team’s page lists confirmed transfers and loans in both directions with the current squad, and favourite players come with their own moves and news.
Notifications for each team and match
Alerts in the Flashscore app work at three levels. In Notification Settings, the user changes event types such as lineups or goals for a whole sport and applies them to all favourite teams or only to new ones. The bell next to a team’s star adjusts alerts for that team’s future matches. The same bell on a match page controls one game, so users can mute a match they are watching while other updates keep arriving.
Team events include kick-off, lineups, goals, red cards and the final result. Followed footballers can trigger alerts for starting or being benched, goals, assists, substitutions, cards, the post-match rating and confirmed transfers.
News, highlights and widgets
The app carries match previews, reports and official video highlights. On iOS, news widgets place the latest articles on the home or lock screen in three sizes, each filtered to a chosen sport or competition.
Odds and the ad-free option
League pages show outright winner odds between rounds and hide them while a round’s matches are in progress. Flashscore+, the iOS subscription, removes banner ads on devices under the same Apple ID without a Flashscore account. Sponsored content and odds stay visible. The Android version has no ad-free option.
