MAGIX Photostory Deluxe is a Windows slideshow editor that combines photographs, video clips, music and spoken narration into presentations. Its tools cover both the pictures themselves and the material connecting them: transitions, animated titles, captions and maps that trace a journey. Finished slideshows can be exported as video or prepared for disc playback.
Photostory’s media library
A slideshow can draw on ordinary image files such as JPEG and PNG as well as RAW photographs. Photostory’s media library supports custom tags for grouping pictures by subject or person. Keyword searches can use tags, people, places and categories to locate material for a particular story.
Face recognition groups matching faces across the library. For a family slideshow, for example, those groups and tags can help assemble pictures of the relevant people without making the whole presentation from a single folder.
Image editing, titles and music
Photostory Deluxe includes cropping and color adjustment within the slideshow workflow. Cropping changes which part of a photograph appears in the frame, while color controls alter its appearance before it is combined with other pictures. Customizable filters and effects provide further treatments, including AI effects for colorizing black-and-white footage, sharpening clips and reducing haze.
Titles and transitions shape how the selected pictures appear as a sequence. Templates supply a starting visual treatment, with titles providing names or explanations and transitions connecting successive shots. Music and sound effects can accompany the photographs and video clips; supported audio inputs include MP3, OGG, WAV and WMA.
Object tracking
Text, graphics and effects can follow a subject within video rather than remain at a fixed screen position. Photostory analyzes movement and lets these elements attach to people or moving objects. This supports a label that follows a person through a clip, or an effect applied to a moving area of the image.
Travel maps
MAGIX Travel Maps adds geographic context to a slideshow. Users create an animated route on a customizable map and place photographs where they were taken. The map can therefore show the connection between destinations, while the associated pictures show what happened at each stop.
Voiceovers and subtitles
MAGIX Photostory Deluxe converts written text into a spoken voiceover and converts speech into editable text for subtitles and transcripts. Captions can highlight words as they are spoken, allowing the visible text to follow the narration. The editable result also lets the user correct the transcription rather than keep the initial recognition output unchanged.
Offline voiceovers and subtitles run on the local PC without an internet connection or AI credits. Hub services offer additional speech services and stock photos, video, music and sounds through credits.
Slideshow export
Video output options include AVI, MKV, MOV and WMV, with AVCHD, Blu-ray and DVD also listed as disc targets. HEVC encoding requires an additional paid activation.
Plus bundle
The Plus bundle includes Photostory Deluxe together with Photo Manager Deluxe and proDAD Heroglyph. Photo Manager adds camera and scanner import, selection tools for blurred pictures and duplicates, panorama creation, and file protection and recovery. Heroglyph provides customizable animated titles and end credits.
