Quick Heal Internet Security is a paid security suite for Windows PCs that combines malware scanning with controls for browsing, banking, network connections and family computer use. Alongside real-time protection, it lets you restrict what browsers and applications can access, recover previously backed-up files, and monitor personal information exposed in data breaches.
Safe Banking
Safe Banking opens a browser session in an isolated environment for financial websites. It blocks keystroke-recording tools within that environment and uses secure DNS to help prevent a banking address from being redirected to a fraudulent destination. You can choose a DNS service from its list or enter a preferred provider’s IP address.
You launch this environment through the system tray or its desktop shortcut.
Browser Sandbox
Quick Heal Internet Security also provides browser isolation for everyday browsing. Browser Sandbox applies access policies to the browser and files opened within its environment, with an optional border showing when the sandbox is active. It supports Chrome, Firefox and Edge.
Its folder rules let you make different decisions for different data. Confidential folders can be inaccessible to the browser, while protected folders can remain readable without allowing changes. A separate rule selects folders where browser downloads are allowed.
Browsing Protection checks websites and blocks suspicious or harmful pages.
Firewall, Wi-Fi and email protection
The firewall monitors incoming and outgoing connections, with access controls for individual programs. You can assign network profiles for home, work, public or restricted connections and create exceptions for traffic that should be allowed or denied. Detailed rules can specify a protocol, local and remote IP addresses, and ports, so an exception can apply to a particular connection rather than opening access for every application.
Wi-Fi monitoring warns when you attempt to join an unsecured connection. The separate Wi-Fi Scanner examines the router and produces a report naming the network, any vulnerabilities it finds, and suggested remedies.
Email protection checks attachments for malware and can keep a backup before taking action. Attachment controls can block files with multiple extensions, specified extensions or all attachments. When a virus is detected, an optional alert identifies the sender, subject, attachment and action taken, helping you trace the affected message.
Quick Heal scan options
Quick Heal Internet Security offers a quick scan of predefined locations, a full device scan, and custom scans of selected drives or folders. You can also check memory or arrange a scan for the next startup to address threats that are difficult to clean while Windows is running. Scan settings control whether to examine executable files or all files, which archives to include, and how deeply to inspect nested archives.
Daily and weekly schedules can run at a chosen time or the first startup of the day. Results distinguish scanned, repaired, quarantined and deleted files. Quarantine stores suspected or infected files in encrypted form to prevent them from running, with controls to restore or remove individual entries.
The vulnerability scan looks for weaknesses in Windows settings and installed applications. Its report separates settings that Quick Heal can fix from application vulnerabilities that lead to the relevant vendor’s patch website. The full device scan excludes mapped network drives; custom scan selection provides control over the locations you want examined.
Protecting files from ransomware
Ransomware protection detects attempts to lock or encrypt data, while Backup & Restore provides a recovery route for files copied before an attack. You can select file categories and add or exclude extensions, including support for backing up Tally data. The backup screen shows the storage location, schedule and most recent backup.
Quick Heal Internet Security can also copy its local backup into an available Google Drive, OneDrive, JioAICloud or Dropbox folder on the PC. This uses the chosen cloud service’s local storage connection. Recovery can use the current backup location or a backup selected from another location, so the files available to restore depend on what was backed up.
Smart Parenting
Smart Parenting applies website, application and time restrictions either to all users or to particular Windows accounts. Website rules can block categories or individual addresses, with exceptions for allowed sites inside a blocked category. Application rules similarly allow specific restrictions and exclusions.
Parents can set permitted internet hours, allowed computer-use periods or a daily device time allowance. Separate standard Windows accounts allow different policies for different users, while an administrator configures the restrictions. Application control requires Virus Protection to remain enabled.
Dark Web Monitoring and the SIA assistant
Dark Web Monitoring checks for exposed personal details such as email addresses, passwords, phone numbers and identity-document information. Alerts include breach information, a risk score and guidance on corrective actions. The Security & Privacy Score provides a separate overview of protection status within the suite.
SIA, the built-in security assistant, answers questions about alerts, updates and feature settings through a chat interface. It requires an active internet connection. For licensed customers in India, the metaProtect portal also provides remote device monitoring, security management, reports and subscription management through a browser.
