Tipard Video Converter Ultimate is a Windows application for converting video and audio, extracting DVD content, and editing media before export. It also assembles music videos and split-screen collages. Tipard Mac Video Converter Ultimate provides these core functions as a separately licensed macOS edition.
Video and audio output profiles
Imported files form a conversion batch with video, audio or device output choices. On Windows, inputs include MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI, MTS and MXF. An audio output extracts sound from video or converts an existing audio file.
The output profile determines the file format and the streams inside it. Windows video options include MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM. Encoder choices include H.264, H.265/HEVC, AV1 and ProRes; audio outputs include MP3, AAC, FLAC and WAV.
The Mac edition also offers MOV, MP4, MKV and ProRes choices, alongside audio and device profiles. Custom settings adjust resolution, frame rate, bitrate, video encoder and audio settings. The configuration can be saved as a new preset.
Device profiles supply settings for targets such as iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and game consoles. Tipard Video Converter Ultimate saves converted files to the chosen local folder. Preferences control how many conversion tasks run together.
DVD titles and disc backups
The Ripper accepts a DVD disc, ISO image or DVD folder. On Windows, it initially loads the main movie. The Full Title List lets users select additional titles, each with its own output format for different video or audio exports.
The default MPG Lossless output retains the DVD's original audio tracks and subtitles. Applying crop, filters, watermark or other edits on Windows requires another output format. The output choice therefore separates stream preservation from an edited conversion.
Whole-disc backup saves a DVD ISO image or DVD folder, rather than individual titles as ordinary media files. The Mac edition also accepts disc, folder and ISO sources and provides the MPG output path. Blu-ray conversion belongs to a separate Tipard product.
Clip editing, sound and subtitles in Tipard Video Converter Ultimate
The clip editor selects the portions retained in the exported file. Users can split a source into segments and add further segments. Arranging clips before merging establishes their order in the combined video.
Frame controls crop the visible area and change its aspect ratio. Rotation adjusts orientation, while horizontal and vertical flipping mirror the picture. These adjustments are incorporated into the exported video along with the selected clip segments.
Other adjustments work on separate parts of the video:
- Picture: brightness, contrast, saturation and hue can be adjusted individually, or a filter can be applied. Text and image watermarks have controls for placement, size and opacity.
- Sound: an existing audio track can be disabled or another added. Volume and delay controls change its level and timing relative to the picture.
- Captions: subtitles can be added, replaced or disabled. Font, color, position, opacity and delay settings control their appearance and alignment.
The Mac edition provides the same main editing areas. It also allows subtitle files to be extracted from a video.
Music-video assembly
The MV workspace assembles clips into a sequence with a selected theme and transitions. Clips can be reordered and trimmed. Opening and closing titles frame the sequence, which is exported as a music video.
MV audio settings retain the original sound or substitute background music. Looping and fade controls shape how the music runs through the sequence. Volume and delay settings adjust its level and timing.
Split-screen collage
Collage arranges several videos or photographs within one divided frame. A layout and aspect ratio establish the grid. Adjustable boundaries change how much space each panel occupies.
Individual clips can be edited inside the composition. The finished arrangement is exported as one split-screen video with the selected soundtrack. This shows the sources together, while MV plays its assembled clips in sequence.
Compression and media tools in Video Converter Ultimate
Video Compressor creates a smaller exported file using a target-size slider or value, output format and resolution. A short preview shows part of the proposed result before processing. Audio Compressor provides a separate size control for audio files.
Additional media tools produce separate outputs:
- GIF Maker: turns a video segment into an animation with selected dimensions, frame rate and looping. The Mac edition also assembles GIFs from photographs.
- Audio Sync: shifts a video's sound using a delay control to adjust its timing against the picture.
- Image Converter: exports pictures as JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, WebP or DDS.
Trial and platform licences
The trial limits the length of file conversions; registration removes that conversion limit. Windows licences are offered for a recurring monthly term or as a lifetime purchase for one PC. Windows and macOS licences are platform-specific and cannot be transferred between the two editions.
