Yahoo Mail App is an email application for Android and iOS that handles messages from Yahoo and other supported providers. Alongside reading, sending and organizing mail, it pulls information from messages into views for purchases, deliveries and upcoming commitments. Multiple mailboxes can be managed within the same application.
Multiple mailboxes in Yahoo Mail
Yahoo Mail App can hold several Yahoo accounts and connect Gmail, Outlook and AOL mailboxes. Adding a mailbox involves choosing its provider and authorizing access to the account. Once connected, the app can send and receive messages for that address, so an existing non-Yahoo account can use the same mail interface.
The mailbox controls also let users unlink an account when they no longer want to manage it through Yahoo Mail. Connecting an address gives the app access to that mailbox; it does not require replacing the address people already use to contact its owner.
Sorting and clearing the inbox
Unread and starred views narrow the message list to mail that still needs attention or has been marked for later. Folders and subfolders retain a user-chosen filing structure, while the attachment view gathers files from messages for access without opening each conversation. Primary Inbox automatically brings important updates forward.
Yahoo Mail App also provides controls for clearing repeated mail. Unsubscribe handles unwanted newsletters and mailing lists, while deletion by sender removes that sender’s messages together.
Planner
On Android, Planner extracts events and tasks from email, including flight confirmations, reservations and bill due dates. It places the resulting commitments in a view that can also include an existing Gmail calendar.
Users can also choose Add to Planner from an email to add a task or event themselves. Feature availability varies by region.
Orders Hub
Orders Hub brings purchase records together by grouping order messages and receipts. It surfaces tracking numbers and delivery updates, with shipment status and estimated arrival information available from the app.
AI summaries and reply tools
AI summaries condense longer messages into key points and actions before a reply is written. Quick actions can lead from a relevant message to its associated task, such as viewing a bill, managing a booking or responding to an invitation. The available action depends on the message.
Yahoo Mail App also offers AI assistance for drafting and adjusting a reply’s tone. On iOS, the composer includes choices for making text concise, friendly or professional. Users can attach device files and images, insert online GIFs, or scan a document directly from the message composer to include it in the email.
Sender identity checks
For participating businesses, verified brand logos help identify senders in the inbox. Yahoo Mail App can also flag a message that appears to impersonate a sender and provide an option to mark it as spam. Built-in spam filtering works alongside these visible sender checks.
Yahoo Mail Plus
The free app contains advertising. Yahoo Mail Plus is a separate paid subscription that removes inbox ads and adds account features such as automatic forwarding, domain blocking and disposable email addresses. Domain blocking applies to the part of an address after the @ symbol, while disposable addresses provide a contact address that can later be deleted. Mail Plus is available only in supported regions.
