Youtube Downloader HD saves a copied video address as a local MP4 file. The user enters the address in the Video URL field, chooses one of the qualities that the source exposes, selects an output folder, and starts the download.
The source controls the quality list
The quality menu contains only resolutions that the source video exposes. Youtube Downloader HD cannot select a resolution that the source does not make available.
Several video addresses can wait in the queue. A playlist needs its playlist address if Youtube Downloader HD should expand the complete list; an address for one item requests that item.
One thread is the compatibility fallback
Youtube Downloader HD can split one transfer across several download threads. The publisher’s changelog gives a direct fallback when that mode causes a problem: select one thread to use the older download mode.
The download page separates the normal installer, a portable ZIP, and a package for older Windows systems.
