Cleaner Guru is an iPhone app for freeing up storage and tidying the data that builds up on a phone over time. It helps remove duplicate content and duplicate contacts and clears out unwanted email, all from one app. Some limited features are free. Full access requires a paid subscription, and the app may include advertisements.
Finding duplicate photos
To clean up the phone’s memory, Cleaner Guru needs access to the photo library. You must expressly allow this through a permission request on the device. It uses this access to help remove duplicate content.
Removing duplicate contacts
With access to the contact list, which you also allow through a permission request, Cleaner Guru helps remove duplicate contacts.
Cleaning an email inbox
The email cleaner works with Gmail. You connect the account through the provider’s own sign-in screen. Cleaner Guru receives access permission without collecting or storing the email password. Once connected, the app can work through folders and labels such as Spam, Promotions, Social and Updates.
From there you can delete, move or archive messages and unsubscribe from mailing lists. Cleaner Guru can also clean an inbox automatically. You set rules for a selected folder and choose how often the app cleans it. The app applies these rules, and a cleanup history records each run with its date, folder and result. Disconnecting the account in the app’s settings removes the access credentials it holds.
