GOM Audio is a free music player for Windows that plays local audio files, Audio CDs and internet broadcasts. Its playlist tabs organize listening sessions, while synchronized lyrics can follow the song playing and appear on the desktop.
Loading music into playlist tabs
GOM Audio accepts individual files or all the audio files in a selected folder. Its supported formats include MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV, Ogg and Opus, alongside Audio CD playback. It also reads playlist formats such as M3U, M3U8 and PLS. For online listening, the Add Address option accepts an external broadcast address; podcast and radio streaming provide audio without a local music file.
The playlist window groups tracks into named tabs. Within a list, you can select tracks, change their order and add or remove entries, with the combined playing time displayed for that list. Shuffle and repeat controls change how each list plays.
Synced lyrics
The lyrics view connects the playing song to an online lyrics service. You can search by song title or artist, load lyrics contributed by other users and choose among available entries. Desktop Lyrics displays the current song’s words on the desktop, so the lyrics do not have to stay inside the main player window. This service requires an internet connection.
GOM Audio also lets listeners contribute to that collection. The lyrics editor accepts manually synchronized lyrics, and registering new lyrics requires a GOM account or a linked social account. Existing entries can be recommended or reported when inaccurate.
Track details in File Info
The File Info view handles the information attached to a track. It lets you inspect and edit details including the song name, genre, album artwork and lyrics, rather than changing only the text shown in the online lyrics pane.
Equalizer
The equalizer adjusts the balance of low, middle and high frequencies during playback. GOM Audio provides presets for different music genres, along with manual controls for setting the frequency balance yourself. You can save an adjustment, delete saved settings or reset the controls.
Playback controls
GOM Audio offers a simple skin and a taskbar mini-band for controlling playback in a smaller area. An always-on-top option keeps the player above other windows, while the visualizer adds a visual display for the audio currently playing.
Power Management gives a listening session a timed endpoint. You can set the music to stop after a chosen interval or have the computer shut down automatically.
