iDevice Manager brings iPhone and iPad photos into a Windows file collection, with tools for both transferring the media and changing its image format. It can copy selected photos, videos or whole albums to the computer. Detection of new images helps distinguish later additions to the device from a collection already transferred.
Photo and video transfers can use Wi-Fi when the Apple device and computer share the same network. Within that connection, the user can browse the available media and choose what to save. Album selection provides a way to transfer an existing group of pictures rather than selecting every image separately.
HEIC conversion and media sent to the device
The HEIC converter in iDevice Manager produces JPEG or PNG files from Apple images. Batch processing applies the conversion to several images together, so a collection can be prepared for a workflow that uses either of those output formats. Copying media and converting images are distinct operations: transfer brings the files onto the computer, while conversion creates files in the selected image format.
iDevice Manager also sends photos and videos from the computer to an iPhone or iPad through the iManager companion app. This supplies the other direction of the media workflow, such as putting a selected collection of computer images onto the device. The Standard edition applies daily transfer allowances; a paid license activates the Pro edition.
Contact information from address books and files
For contacts, iDevice Manager works with classic Outlook, Windows Contacts and Google Contacts. Its contact tools move address-book information between the computer and the Apple device. Classic Outlook support includes contact notes as well as the contact information being exchanged.
CSV and vCard support provide file-based routes for contact data. A vCard file can supply a contact import into the iPhone address book, which is useful when another address book has already exported the records in that form. These options let the input come from a desktop contact collection or a contact file, depending on where the records are held.
Ringtones, accessible folders and local backups
Ringtone creation and playback are another part of iDevice Manager. The ringtone tools prepare custom audio tones, and the built-in player lets the user listen to them within the application. The file browser exposes accessible device and app folders for examining and copying their contents.
Local backups store device data on the computer. iDevice Manager supports selective restoration from those backups, allowing chosen stored data to be returned to the device.
