iTop Voicy is a free voice changer for Windows that transforms microphone speech for games, calls and live streams. It also changes voices in existing audio and video files or recordings made within the program. Its voice library provides ready-made characters and voice styles, while Voice Lab lets you build a custom sound from adjustable voice settings and audio effects.
Sending a changed voice to other apps
iTop Voicy takes sound from your selected microphone and applies the voice model or sound effect you choose. The receiving application uses a separate input called iTop Microphone (iTop Virtual Audio Device). Selecting this input in the game, meeting app or streaming software sends the processed voice to that application.
The real-time panel separates Voices, Sounds, Custom and Favorites. Voices contains the voice models; Sounds holds effects that can accompany speech. You can enable the voice changer, turn on Hear Myself to monitor the result through your headphones, and add background sounds. Keybinds provide keyboard access to selected voices or effects, and favorites keep frequently used choices together.
The virtual microphone works with communication apps such as Discord, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and TeamSpeak. It also serves games including Roblox and Fortnite, and streaming tools such as OBS and Streamlabs. Complex effects and competing CPU workloads can introduce delays or stuttering during live conversion.
Shaping voices in iTop Voicy
Voice Lab combines controls for volume, pitch and timbre with effects that alter the voice’s tone and space. Pitch changes how high or low the voice sounds, while timbre controls its tonal character. These settings give a custom voice its base sound before additional effects are applied.
A three-band equalizer balances low, middle and high frequencies. The high-pass filter cuts low-frequency rumble, and the low-pass filter reduces harshness. Brightness and warmth controls provide further tonal adjustments. These tools allow changes to particular parts of the sound rather than relying entirely on a preset character voice.
Room and recording-studio reverb add a sense of acoustic space. Chorus and tremolo introduce variation, while echo and surround effects add depth. Custom creations appear in the Custom collection, and sound effects can be edited and saved for later use.
Converting files and recordings
File Voice Changer applies a selected voice model to audio or video imported through its Import control or dragged into the program. You can adjust the volume and enable Noise Reduction before exporting a new voice file. This provides a separate workflow for voice-overs, podcast material or other recorded speech that does not need to pass through a live application’s microphone input.
Supported audio inputs include MP3, AAC, AC3, FLAC, WMA, WAV and OGG. Video inputs include MP4, AVI, FLV, MKV, MOV, TS, 3GP, MPG, WMV and WebM. iTop Voicy exports converted voice files in multiple formats.
Record Mode captures speech through the microphone within iTop Voicy. The recording then uses the same model selection, volume, noise reduction and export controls as imported files. You can therefore create a recording and convert its voice without first supplying a separate audio file.
