Tweaky Driver is a Windows driver inventory and update-review program from Aurelio Avila. It offers a limited Free plan and paid Pro access. The app separates detected devices, packages ready for download, and catalog candidates before the user reviews a driver change.
An inventory before an offer
Starting a scan reads the hardware inventory and installed driver versions. Tweaky Driver then checks supported Windows Update, manufacturer, and component sources. Scanning retrieves metadata without downloading or installing driver packages.
The results distinguish devices with an official offer from devices without a reliable package. Other groups identify devices that the scan could not fully check and devices that Windows handles itself. A detected device therefore does not necessarily represent an available update.
Repeated scans reuse recent Catalog answers for each device while checking its installed driver again. Devices with an update option appear by name before the scan finishes.
Stopping and resuming
Stop interrupts pending catalog requests, and later responses do not overwrite the stopped display. Starting another scan begins fresh work; Resume remains a separate choice.
Resume checks a recent checkpoint against the current hardware before reusing completed queries and assessment results. It can repeat an incomplete source check. Changed hardware or an expired checkpoint requires a new scan.
Choosing packages to review
The Updates view shows installed and available versions alongside package sources and download information. Search accepts driver names, device names, hardware IDs, and device identifiers. A Needs attention filter brings device problem indicators into the review.
Download all gathers eligible packages, while Custom selection lets users choose individual offers. Users can select visible packages or clear the selection. The Selected view and a hidden-selection count reveal choices that the current search or filter conceals.
A download review precedes the transfer. Catalog candidates still need compatibility and signed-package checks; a search result alone does not establish a compatible installation. Installing supported updates remains a separate action after downloading.
Manufacturer-specific offers
Vendor checks follow different matching rules and download paths:
- Intel graphics, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth checks match exact hardware IDs against Intel’s catalog and compare installed versions. The app offers newer packages or missing Intel drivers.
- Supported desktop Radeon graphics checks read AMD’s recommended driver information. Laptop graphics and PRO cards follow separate manufacturer paths outside this consumer offering.
- Selected GeForce desktop and laptop graphics families receive offers for NVIDIA Game Ready packages.
These manufacturer packages use download-only paths. Intel downloads undergo publisher-signature, exact-size, and published-hash checks before the app keeps the file. AMD downloads also require publisher verification. Downloading these installers does not replace a driver automatically.
Free scans and Pro access
The Free plan requires an account with a verified email address. It permits one complete scan every ten days, with access to the downloads and installations that scan offers until the next scan unlocks.
Pro provides unlimited scans and downloads across two activated PCs. Its trial works only on the PC where the user starts it. The account service limits that trial to one per account and PC.
Plans & pricing shows the current plan and the next free scan’s availability. Returning from checkout refreshes subscription access, and Refresh requests another account-service check.
