VideoProc Converter AI, often shortened to VideoProc AI, is a desktop media program from Digiarty for Windows and macOS. It combines AI enhancement of video, photos and audio with a format converter, a compressor, basic editing tools, a DVD ripper, an online video downloader and a screen recorder. The program processes files locally on the computer. It is paid software; the free trial has limits on file length, export counts and some tools.
AI upscaling for video and photos
Super Resolution raises the resolution of low-quality material such as old home videos, VHS transfers, downloads and AI-generated footage. You add files, pick a model, set a scale of 1x to 4x or a target from 480p up to 4K, and run the job. Still images can go to 8K or 10K.
The choice of model decides what kind of correction is applied:
- Gen Detail rebuilds texture and sharpness, suited to blurry footage, compressed JPEGs, skin and hair.
- Real Smooth concentrates on removing noise while keeping a natural or artistic look, and fits faces, smooth surfaces and line art.
- Anime is trained for cartoons, manga, animation and CG.
- Zyxt is a lighter model for real-life video that does not need much invented detail.
Each model has a fast mode and a high-quality mode, trading speed against quality.
Frame interpolation and stabilization
Frame Interpolation creates new in-between frames. VideoProc AI tracks how pixels move from one frame to the next and separates foreground subjects from the background. It then inserts two to five times as many frames. A 30 fps clip can become 120 fps or higher for smoother playback. You can also slow it down by up to 20x for slow-motion shots. A scene detection option skips interpolation across cuts so it does not blend unrelated shots. You can adjust its sensitivity.
Stabilization reduces shake in action camera, drone and phone footage. You control how much of the frame may be cropped, or start from a preset. In the current product this tool runs on Windows.
Photo repair and audio cleanup
Face Restoration sharpens faces in old photos and portraits, and Colorization adds color to black-and-white or faded pictures.
On the audio side, Noise Suppression removes background noise from audio files and video soundtracks. Vocal Remover splits a track into voice and accompaniment, so you can keep only the instrumental or only the speech. These audio AI tools are listed for Windows.
Format conversion
The converter reads several hundred formats, including MP4, HEVC, MKV, MOV, AVI and WebM. It also reads 360-degree and 3D video, M3U8 stream links, 10-bit HDR drone footage and camera log footage. Output can be H.264, HEVC, AV1, ProRes or WebM in common containers. Other outputs include audio formats such as MP3, AAC, FLAC, WAV and M4R, plus images and GIFs.
Instead of setting codecs by hand, you can pick a preset for a device, an editing application such as Final Cut Pro, or an upload site. VideoProc Converter AI can also extract audio, copy streams without re-encoding and convert files in batches.
Compression and encoding settings
The compressor shrinks large recordings for sharing or storage. A slider sets the target size, and the program adjusts the encoding to fit it. For finer control, the advanced settings expose bitrate (average or variable), resolution, frame rate, aspect ratio, GOP length, B-frames, two-pass encoding and audio sample rate. They also show an estimate of the output size before you export.
Encoding and AI jobs use Intel, NVIDIA and AMD graphics hardware or Apple silicon where available, taking most of the load off the processor.
Quick editing tools
VideoProc AI is not a timeline editor, but it covers the common fixes applied before export:
- cutting, trimming and splitting clips, and merging files into one video
- cropping with aspect ratio presets, rotating and flipping
- filters, color adjustments for brightness, contrast, hue, gamma and saturation, and playback speed from 0.1x to 16x
- adding, extracting or burning in SRT, ASS and SSA subtitles
- audio sync fixes, fisheye removal and deinterlacing
DVD backup
The DVD module reads discs, VIDEO_TS folders and ISO images. It can convert just the main title or every title to MP4, HEVC or multi-track MKV. It can also create an ISO image or make a 1:1 copy that keeps the full disc structure.
Downloading and screen recording
The downloader saves videos, music, subtitles and live streams from a large list of websites. It accepts multiple URLs, playlists and channels, lets you choose resolution and format, and resumes interrupted downloads.
The recorder captures the screen, a webcam or both at once in picture-in-picture, with green-screen removal for the camera image. It records system sound and microphone input, and you can draw, highlight or crop areas while recording.
Trial and license options
The free trial handles only short files and a few AI images. It watermarks recordings on Windows and limits them to five minutes on Mac. A paid license, either a yearly subscription or a one-time license for one or several computers, removes these limits. Licenses are tied to either Windows or Mac and cannot be moved between the two.
