Overview

HitPaw Edimakor is a video editor with a timeline-based editing workspace and a set of AI tools. These tools handle subtitles, voiceovers, short-clip extraction and video generation. It runs as a desktop application on Windows and macOS, and a browser version works without installation. The standard editing tools are free to use, but free exports carry a watermark. The AI generation features draw on a credit balance.

The editing workspace

An Edimakor project starts by importing video, audio, photos and GIFs into the media library. The user then arranges clips on a timeline. It has one main video track and as many extra tracks as needed for overlays, music, images, effects and text.

A quick toolbar above the timeline holds the everyday cuts: split, delete, crop, speed and freeze frame. The user can set a uniform speed or ramp it along a curve. Crop also contains a Pan & Zoom mode.

Selecting a clip opens its properties on the right. Here the user can rotate, mirror and scale the clip, fade its opacity and switch on stabilization. Colour adjustments include brightness, contrast, saturation, temperature and tone. A Color Clone option copies the colour look of a chosen frame or a reference image onto the clip.

Keyframes and masks

Keyframes in Edimakor animate position, size, opacity and effect settings over time. Shape masks such as rectangles, circles and stars have adjustable feathering, position and scale. Keyframes can animate them to reveal or hide parts of a shot.

Backgrounds and layering

Placing a second clip on a new track and resizing it in the preview creates picture-in-picture. For footage shot against a solid colour, a chroma key option removes the green screen. Without one, the AI background remover separates the subject automatically. The user can replace the removed background with a colour or image, or simply blur the original background.

Text, effects and templates

HitPaw Edimakor ships with a library of effects, filters, transitions, stickers, text styles and stock media. Text layers take a font, size, colour and preset style, plus animation effects such as fly-in, flash or fade. Video templates provide pre-built layouts into which the user drops their own media.

Subtitles and voice

Edimakor can generate subtitles automatically from speech, import them from SRT, LRC, ASS or VTT files, or let the user type them manually. Automatic recognition covers more than 130 languages. Edimakor can translate generated captions into other languages. Captions can appear word by word, line by line or page by page, with highlighted keywords and animated styles. The user can save them as separate subtitle files or burn them into the video.

Edimakor also offers text to speech, voice cloning, a voice changer and video translation with AI dubbing. Its audio tools cover noise reduction, vocal removal and music generation from a text prompt.

AI Shorts for long recordings

The AI Clip Maker, labelled AI Shorts in the program, takes a long local video and picks out its key moments. Before generating, the user chooses an aspect ratio, a clip length and a subtitle style. The result is a list of short clips with captions already applied, plus suggested titles and descriptions. The user can export clips directly or open them on the timeline for further editing.

Generating video with AI

The AI Video Generator in HitPaw Edimakor builds a video from a story, an idea or a finished script. The user sets a length and an aspect ratio, then chooses between automatically matched footage and their own media. The program splits the script into paragraphs and pairs each one with a clip. Every part stays editable: the user can swap clips, rewrite text, add a voiceover, and change the subtitle style and background music.

Separate generators turn a text description or an uploaded photo into a short AI video, using several models, including Google’s Veo. The AI Avatar tool produces a presenter video from a script or an audio recording, with lip movements synced to the voice.

Recording and export

A built-in recorder captures the screen, a webcam and audio and adds the recording to the media library.

The export window sets the file name, location, format and resolution. The desktop versions export to MP4, MOV, MKV, AVI, WebM, GIF and other video formats, plus audio-only formats such as MP3 and WAV. The macOS version adds Apple ProRes output. The export window also lets the user upload videos directly to YouTube and TikTok.

Free use, licences and credits

The non-AI editing features of Edimakor are available without payment, and free exports have no length limit but include a watermark. A paid licence, available on a monthly, yearly or perpetual basis for Windows or Mac, removes it. AI features run on credits. New accounts receive a small starting balance, and the amount used depends on how complex the task is. Image generation, video generation and AI avatars need purchased credits.
