ISO Workshop is a Windows desktop application from Glorylogic for working with disc images and optical discs. It builds ISO files from folders and burns images to CD, DVD and Blu-ray media. It also opens existing images to pull files out of them, converts between image formats and copies whole discs. ISO Workshop is paid software sold with a perpetual license, and a seven-day trial is available.
Building ISO files from folders
The Make ISO function packs a selection of files and folders into a single ISO image, the standard container format for the contents of an optical disc. ISO Workshop can produce an ordinary data image or a bootable one. A computer can start from the bootable image once you write it to a disc. You choose the image’s file system when you create it.
Burning images to CD, DVD and Blu-ray
Burning is not limited to ISO files. ISO Workshop writes an ISO or another disc image format to a blank CD, DVD or BD, recreating the original disc layout on physical media. This is the usual route for turning a downloaded operating system image or an archived backup into a working disc.
Looking inside existing images
You can reach an image’s contents without burning or mounting it. ISO Workshop opens several disc image formats, shows their folder structure and extracts selected files or folders to a location on the hard drive. You can recover a single document or driver from a large image without writing the whole thing to a disc.
Disc backup and image conversion
Two functions handle images that already exist in some form:
- Disc backup reads a CD, DVD or Blu-ray Disc and saves it as an ISO or BIN image, keeping the disc contents in one file on the computer.
- Conversion takes an image created in another format and rewrites it as ISO or BIN. You can then use it with tools that accept only those formats.
Direct disc copying
For duplicating a disc, ISO Workshop makes exact copies on the fly. ISO Workshop sends data straight from the source disc to the blank disc. It does not save the data as an image first, so no intermediate file takes up hard drive space.
License and use
A standard ISO Workshop license covers one user and permits personal and commercial use. It includes a year of updates, with lifetime updates offered as an option. The purchased version keeps working without a time limit. Organizations can request multi-user Business or Enterprise licenses, which add priority support and a pre-activated named build of the program.
