You can create a slideshow in Movavi Slideshow Maker without making any decisions. Give the Montage Wizard a folder of photos and a music track, select a template, and it does the rest. It arranges the slides, adds the transitions between them and provides you with a completed film. If that draft is close enough, you’re finished. If it isn’t, the same project opens in a full timeline, and you fix the pacing yourself.
That’s the other half of Movavi Slideshow Maker. You edit clips, split them, add titles, fix colour, and do motion tracking. It’s a normal video editor, but a small one.

Place an entire folder at once. Projects can have as many files as your computer’s memory and storage allow, and can be as long as you want. Most photo, video and music formats are accepted, and all of the content you import can reside in a media library within the program, eliminating the need to search through folders the next time.
YOU DO NOT OPEN A FILE TO SEE WHAT IS IN IT
Hover over a content card and it previews. That includes your media, effects, and transitions. The timeline operates in the same manner — move the cursor along a clip and it plays back under the cursor, so there is no need to scrub and guess when it’s the right moment.
YOU DO NOT DRAG CLIPS UNTIL THEY TOUCH
Snapping pulls a clip against its neighbour on its own. No gap, no overlap, no nudging back and forth to close a one-frame hole.
Movavi Slideshow Maker allows you to cut at a time you enter or at a particular frame you select. Black bars are not retained on vertical footage.
THE VISUAL SIDE
In the Elements section of Movavi Slideshow Maker, there are 20 free special effects. There are 13 blending modes that can be applied to any clip, and that is how overlays are created. Colour correction has the same set of adjustable parameters, and photos can be improved automatically or manually by brightness, contrast and sharpening.
There are two things to know before you commit. The trial exports are watermarked. Some users have reported failed renders and black frames in place of photos, with varied support responses.
SOUND
Music is imported in the same manner as images. Movavi Slideshow Maker equalises the volume between tracks, preventing one clip from being too loud after another that is too quiet, and it removes background noise from recordings. The slideshow can be spoken over, with the voice recorded over the music.
